Virtual College celebrates 500,000th learner landmark

21/03/2011

Online training pioneer Virtual College, an organisation that uses the internet to deliver knowledge and training at the click of a mouse, has clocked up its half-millionth e-learner milestone.

Founder and chief executive Rod Knox said: "We work with some of the largest companies and public sector organisations in the UK and have also equipped tens of thousands of individual learners with new skills.

"E-learning has been adopted by millions of people worldwide, more recently on economic considerations. Using the internet means geographical barriers are non-existent and travel time and associated costs such as fuel and parking are vastly reduced or completely eliminated."

Since being established in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, in 1995, Virtual College has developed an 11-strong stable of e-academies covering the manufacturing, safeguarding, housing, healthcare, engineering, education, food, drink & hospitality, trades and telesolutions sectors.
