Lean Healthcare Academy announces 2009 awards shortlist

The Lean Healthcare Academy has announced the shortlist for its second annual awards for excellence.
More than 100 projects from healthcare bodies that have adopted Lean as a foundation stone for sustainable service transformation across the NHS were entered for the 12 categories at the 2009 awards.
They are open to both members and non-members of the Ilkley-based Lean Healthcare Academy, which works in partnership with NHS Trusts across the UK to develop best practice.
The shortlisted projects will be on display at an exhibition in the main hall of the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Thursday, November 12, with the winners to be announced later at an awards dinner.
Organisation of the Year: University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust, Care Services Direct - NHS Barnsley, Airedale NHS Trust.
Lean Champion of the Year: NHS Doncaster - Helen Reasbeck, Airedale NHS Trust - Nichola Powell, University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS Trust - Heidi Poole.
