Leadership development: Out of the classroom and into the workplace
18/07/2011
According to unique research by Towards Maturity, when asked to identify managers' top three methods of learning delivery, survey participants did not include ‘the classroom'. Those contributing to the research said that managers preferred solutions that delivered learning on-demand. James Reed, MD of LMMatters, will be talking about these findings, and their implications for leadership and management development, in a webinar at 11am on 29 July. He'll also explain how the world-leading development resource Harvard ManageMentor has been designed to develop skills at the point of need.
Learning online can be such an integral part of 'doing' that
leaders and managers who learn to solve challenges in this way may not consider
this traditional 'training'. At LMMatters
- the UK partner to Harvard Business Publishing - anecdotal evidence tells us
that this ‘learning-on-demand' approach works. But surprisingly, until now, there
has been little or no research into the effectiveness of online leadership and
management development - despite the fact that, according to research by Towards Maturity, 50% of all
leadership and management programmes are now e-enabled.
A groundbreaking
new research study by Towards Maturity has now revealed that on-demand is
indeed the way that busy managers and executives like to learn. And that
learning technologies are enabling leaders and managers to access knowledge immediately,
effectively and seamlessly, where and when they need it.
James Reed, MD of LMMatters, will be touching on the results of this independent research, and its implications for leadership and management development, in a webinar at 11am on 29 July. He'll also explain how Harvard ManageMentor, the world leading resource from Harvard Business Publishing, has been designed to fit around the busy work life of leaders and managers, offering practical help to foster good management skills that can be applied on the job, immediately.
To register for the webinar please email Genevieve Allan gallan@lmmatters.com or call 08451 707 700. All participants will be offered complimentary trial access to Harvard ManageMentor.
Benchmarking experts Towards Maturity carried out the independent research - 180 participants contributed to the study, collectively providing development opportunities to more than 35,000 leaders and managers.
