Ixion has been awarded a £4.1 million contract by the East of England Learning and Skills Council to deliver Advantage East, a training scheme that provides level 2 NVQ qualifications to employed individuals in the East of England.

Through the 2 year project, participants in the region will be able to access information, advice and funding for NVQs to provide skills that will help individuals progress or stay within their current job.

Graham Baker, Ixion's chief executive commented: "We are delighted to have won the contract to deliver Advantage East in the East of England. Ixion has extensive successful experience in running a number of complimentary business support schemes and services in the region such as Train to Gain and Business Link. Organisations must continue to invest in their employees, as a fully skilled workforce will give businesses a competitive edge in an increasingly challenging marketplace. The addition of Advantage East to our portfolio will allow us to continue to offer a range of high-quality products and services to businesses of all sizes across the region."

The Advantage East contract will run for just over two years with a fully integrated marketing and information campaign running throughout the East of England region to ensure that individuals are aware of the programme and speak to their employer about joining.

Graham Baker concluded: "There is a need to communicate this type of funded training programme to ensure that those in the region benefit from all Government funded training available."

Ixion is a business and skills support provider and works with all major Government funding bodies and policy makers to ensure that public funds meet the needs of businesses and individuals.
