Healthcare e-Academy launches new urinary catheterisation online module
2/3/2009Virtual College in Ilkley, a pioneer in online learning, has launched a new e-learning module relating to urinary catheterisation - widely regarded as one of the major causes of healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) in the NHS.
The keynote aim of the module is to improve catheter care and reduce HCAIs through effective education of healthcare workers to help them better understand and respond to what is a growing problem nationwide.
"The Management of Urinary Catheterisation for Adults" module is being delivered by Virtual College's newly established Healthcare e-Academy.
It is said to be ideally suited to any health workers with a responsibility for urinary catheterisation, including qualified nurses and healthcare support workers.
The module is available free to all health care workers within the Bradford and Airedale NHS areas, including nursing home staff - and for purchase outside the area.
