Acua goes global
06/07/2011
Leadership and organisational development company Acua has expanded globally with the appointment of an international business development manager.
Philippe Caron has joined Acua following seven years at the British Council during which time he was the organisation's business development manager in France and country exams manager in Malaysia.
The 38-year-old said he is aiming to play a major role in building on the success Acua has made within high-profile organisations in the UK.
"Acua has everything in place to be a major global player," he said.
"The company has been working with big name organisations who have an international presence, such as Ford and TNT, for some time and have demonstrated a real impact on talent development that provide return on investment for clients.
"The academic quality of the talent development solutions Acua applies directly in the workplace, and on work related issues, gives the company a real competitive edge and we believe this model will also work extremely well within international organisations."
Larraine Boorman, Managing Director of Acua, which has its headquarters in the Midlands and is affiliated to Coventry University, said Caron's appointment was a major milestone in the company's history.
"Philippe Caron is a fantastic addition to the business and will play a significant role in our planned expansion into international markets," she said.
"Over the last three years we have demonstrated a real impact on business performance within organisations across the UK and we're confident we can replicate this success with businesses on the continent.
"All our development programmes can be accredited by Coventry University which makes us appealing overseas and with Philippe on board we are now well placed to penetrate this market."
Since being established in 2008, Acua has designed and delivered hundreds of leadership and management programmes to more than 50 organisations, including House of Fraser, West Midlands Fire Service, Jaguar Land Rover and HSBC.
