IITT Launch New Accreditation Programme for Freelance Trainers
11/11/2010
The new Freelance Trainer Accreditation programme has been designed to address the specific issues faced by the freelance market, providing the framework to support the development of training standards, coupled with unique commercial benefits.
IITT, Chief Executive, Colin Steed explained how demand from freelance trainers led to the development of the programme. He said: "Hundreds of freelance trainers are already members of the IITT. From speaking with them it became clear that they felt accreditation was primarily for large training companies and didn't really relate to the issues they were facing. This new accreditation will change that. The programme is tailored specifically to meet the needs of today's freelance trainer."
Steed believes the new accreditation has the ability to break down the barriers that have historically prevented freelance trainers becoming accredited.
He added: "For freelance trainers, time really is money, which is why the entire process leading up to this accreditation is handled remotely. Freelance trainers also need to be able to generate tangible returns on their investment. In response, the Freelance Trainer Accreditation is not only geared to raising the standards of their training but supporting them commercially. The accreditation includes discounted rates to key networking events, promotion through newsletters and social networking sites, profile on the training professional website, use of the accreditation logo on marketing material and much more.
"The Freelance Trainer Accreditation programme will allow freelancers to compete with the well known national training providers as well as providing a competitive edge over unaccredited trainers. With the response we have received to date, I would expect the accreditation to quickly become a standard requirement for the freelance trainer market."
The new Freelance Trainer Accreditation will be available from January 4th 2011; although the IITT has already started to accept bookings for the progamme from a flurry of freelance trainers keen to be one of the first to gain the new accreditation.
