E-learning debate 2010 at the Oxford Union

5th October 2010

After the resounding success of the inaugural E-learning Debate last year, Epic decided to do it all again!

This year's E-learning Debate 2010 will take place at 4pm on Wednesday 6 October. Hosted at the Oxford Union, a prestigious 186-year-old debating society, they'll be taking the oldest of topics, informal learning, and then weaving it into a thoroughly modern debate motion about learning technologies:

This house believes that technology-based informal learning is more style than substance.

The debate will be followed by a unique informal learning experience, which is sure to amuse and surprise. Led by a previous member of MIT Media Lab and current TED fellow, it has been described in just one word by the founder of Amazon.com, Jeff Bezos: "Wow!"

To round off the evening, a drinks reception will offer an unparalleled opportunity to network with those who have a shared interest in learning technologies. Visit http://www.epic.co.uk/elearningdebate/ for more information.
