What are NVQ Assessors responsible for?

Meeting the candidate on a regular basis in their place of work Advising the candidate on the types and range of evidence that would be acceptable Guiding the candidate when putting their portfolio of evidence together Undertaking observations of the candidate to prove competence of some of the Unit and Element criteria Collecting the "witness testimony" evidence where this is being used Assessing the evidence in the portfolio for relevance, authenticity and sufficiency Signing off the NVQ only when the candidate has met ALL of its requirements Completing and returning a monthly report form Attending at least two CPD events focusing on NVQ assessment and verification keeping up to date with their occupational competency
