Training and Course Type Definations
Find out what courses are available to suit you. This is a quick guide to the different types of training/courses available to you, always make sure that you choose the course type that will best meet your needs.
1 to 1 Training or Coaching - This is when a trainer or coach meets with an individual and sets up training or coaching programme to meet the needs of the individual, business or company objectives
Bespoke courses - are run at the customer premises or a venue and the course is designed for them
Blended Learning - Utilises a mixing of different learning environments involves a combination of traditional classroom-based learning and can include the use of Online Learning, Distance Learning enable the learner to work remotely.
Continual Enrolment - this is normally an online course that you can start at a time to suit you
Customised training courses - These courses are tailored to your training requirements by training providers
Company Specific training courses - These courses are tailored to your companys requriements by the training provider
Distance Learning - is a course that is obtained remotely; often based on written correspondence material but can include audio-visual material, CD ROMs and can sometimes include local tutorials.
e learning courses - normaly purchased and done by the learner on any pc with broadband access.
In-house courses - are run at the customer's premises and can be off the shelf or bespoke/tailored
Online Learning - training that is delivered by Web-based or Internet-based and normally carried out using a PC
On-site Training - training held at the customer's premises.
Open Courses - normally have scheduled start dates and a venue arranged by the Training Provider (this style of training is normally an off the shelf course subject)
Public Courses - also known as Open Courses or Scheduled Courses
Scheduled courses - also known as Open Coursesor Public Courses
Tailored courses - designed for the company's needs may use a off the shelf course and bolt on other topics
Webinars - are learning sessions at your pc where you login and use either your headset or phone to take part online.
Virtual Training - is where you log into a virtual world setting as an avatar (a person on screen) you can then walk, sit view the presentation, interact with other learners / delegates online ususally you would need a headset, webcam or phone.
